Keisha is supportive hard working and always pushing herself to achieve her goals and dreams. A great person who is making a difference. Thank you Keisha Adair Swaby
Keisha has been an amazing person in the local community, she has been involved in so much great work over a ... period of many years with myself, she has been an inspiring individual and blessed to know her very well. Keisha also attended local events in the community and helped/volunteered, giving hope and aspirations to people who lacked this but also inspiring others to take up volunteering and championing those who are doing great work. This was between 2018-ongoing Keisha has been involved in some great work over the years, some of these include: Attending my school to do a talk with young people in 2018 She spoke to a group of year 10 girls on the importance of believing in themselves at the Manchester Communication Academy in 2018. I can’t thank her enough, I was worried about this group of girls, Keisha came and inspired them, I seen changes in their behaviour afterwards, they believed in themselves and are now achieving good things. Keisha continued to do this later on in other schools I have worked with, including St Matthew’s (2019) coming in to speak about Dyslexia and her journey. She has been in the local youth club, Powerhouse (2019) to speak to young people there – sharing her journey with young people there and having Dyslexia and the impact this has had on her journey. All of Keisha’s talks have been powerful and useful to young people in helping them to get their life back on track. She was able to also refer them to the right services for support. I can’t thank her enough for her hard work.
Keisha was a speaker at my recent International Women's Day conference and inspired us all with ... her story of courage and determination of growing up severely dyslexic and dyspraxic, but not being aware she had these conditions until the age of 41. Bullied badly as a child, school was a struggle for her and she left school with no GCSEs. In 2016, she gave up her job of 12 years, determined to go to university and study for a degree. It was during the last few weeks of studying for a BSc in Applied Sport and Exercise Science that she was diagnosed with severe dyslexia and dyspraxia. She achieved a First in her degree and even went on to do a masters degree in health psychology and achieved a Merit. This year Keisha was recognised as one of the top 50 Influential Neurodivergent Women 2022. She now speaks on various platforms to increase awareness of the need for neurodiversity, the challenges individuals face, and to empower others with similar experiences as her own. What an amazing women she is. Dyslexic Thinking is now a skill recognised by LinkedIn and they have launched a Dyslexic Thinking skill button that people can add to their profile
